Sermon Description

Romans 12:1-2

  1.  I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service.
  2.  And be not fashioned according to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is the good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

1Samuel 12:1-6

  1.  And Samuel said unto all Israel, Behold, I have hearkened unto your voice in all that ye said unto me, and have made a king over you.
  2.  And now, behold, the king walketh before you; and I am old and grayheaded; and, behold, my sons are with you: and I have walked before you from my youth unto this day.
  3.  Here I am: witness against me before Jehovah, and before his anointed: whose ox have I taken? or whose ass have I taken? or whom have I defrauded? whom have I oppressed? or of whose hand have I taken a ransom to blind mine eyes therewith? and I will restore it you.
  4.  And they said, Thou hast not defrauded us, nor oppressed us, neither hast thou taken aught of any man’s hand.
  5.  And he said unto them, Jehovah is witness against you, and his anointed is witness this day, that ye have not found aught in my hand. And they said, He is witness.
  6.  And Samuel said unto the people, It is Jehovah that appointed Moses and Aaron, and that brought your fathers up out of the land of Egypt.

Revelations 3:14-16

  • 14 And to the angel of the church in Laodicea write:
  • These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God:
  • 15 I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot.
  • 16 So because thou art lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will spew thee out of my mouth.

Matt 6:25-34

  • 25 Therefore I say unto you, Be not anxious for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than the food, and the body than the raiment?
  • 26 Behold the birds of the heaven, that they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; and your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are not ye of much more value than they?
  • 27 And which of you by being anxious can add one cubit unto the measure of his life?
  • 28 And why are ye anxious concerning raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin:
  • 29 yet I say unto you, that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.
  • 30 But if God doth so clothe the grass of the field, which to-day is, and to-morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe  you, O ye of little faith?
  • 31 Be not therefore anxious, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?
  • 32 For after all these things do the Gentiles seek; for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.
  • 33 But seek ye first his kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
  • 34 Be not therefore anxious for the morrow: for the morrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.

1John 2:15-17

  • 15 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
  • 16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh and the lust of the eyes and the vainglory of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.
  • 17 And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.
